Through detailed service level agreements, Info-Gro provides comprehensive services and support in the desktop, data networks, application development and maintenance, customer service centre, midrange computer and server infrastructures to the MGK Group of companies.
Although we supply all their hardware, we are currently only providing application development and maintenance services to our other clients based in Vredendal and Mosselbay. |
Up to 1 September 2001, the MGK Group of companies, Karoo Oranje Landbou Koöperasie and Namakwaland Landbou Koöperasie had been using the same information systems software base for their day tot day business administration needs and to support their decision making processes. The software was developed specifically to fulfil the unique requirements of a diverse agricultural business. Until September 2001 each of the above companies were responsible for the maintenance of its own system which was not performed well mainly due to budget constraints and lack of expertise. The inadequate maintenance of the system introduced any number of risks, some of which were potentially highly threatening to the businesses.
After negotiations between the parties, Info-Gro (Pty) Ltd was founded on 1 September 2001 through a pooling of resources to provide these services to its shareholders. The vision for the business from the start was to add new clients through the marketing of the system to other co-ops and to also expand the business into other areas such as hardware sales, operating system support for example Unix and Linux, firewal and e-mail installations and support. The shareholders of Info-Gro expects a market related return on its investment. Infogro management owns 10% of the issued share capital of the company. |
